Code of
Conduct
Last updated: April 2026
Lead with Respect
We're all here to have a great time. Treat everyone around you — attendees, performers, vendors, volunteers, and staff — with kindness and respect. Harassment of any kind is not tolerated, whether based on race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, age, religion, nationality, or any other characteristic.
Protect the Vibe
This is a space for joy, connection, and celebration. Behaviour that threatens that — aggressive conduct, intimidation, verbal abuse, threats, unwanted physical contact, or anything that disrupts the experience for others — has no place here. Specifically, the following will not be tolerated:
- Racist, anti-Black, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, or ableist language or actions
- Unwanted physical contact or sexual attention of any kind
- Deliberate misgendering or use of someone's deadname
- Photographing or filming people without their explicit consent
- Possession or use of illegal substances on or near the venue
- Retaliation against anyone who raises a concern
Honour the Space
Juneteenth is rooted in African-American history and belongs to the African diaspora and allies. Our events are built as a space of belonging for Black and diaspora communities. Everyone who attends — whatever their background — is a guest in that space.
We welcome all guests to join us in a spirit of solidarity and respect. Be mindful of how you take up space: in conversations, on the dance floor, in photos, and in interactions with others. Come to celebrate with us, not to make this event about you.
Photography
Event photography and filming take place at our gatherings for documentary and promotional purposes. By attending, you acknowledge you may appear in images or video.
Guests are not permitted to photograph or film other attendees without their explicit consent. If someone asks you to stop, stop immediately. Professional or press photographers must request credentials in advance via the contact page.
Report It
If you witness or experience anything that feels wrong, tell us. Speak to any team member wearing a staff lanyard, or reach out via the contact page for non-urgent concerns. In an emergency, contact local services — the emergency number in Spain is 112.
All reports are taken seriously. We will listen, act promptly, and handle every report with discretion.
Consequences
All attendees, artists, staff, volunteers, vendors, partners, and guests are expected to uphold these values. Violations may result in a warning, removal from the event without refund, and/or restricted access to future Juneteenth Barcelona events. Serious incidents will be referred to local authorities.
Scope
This Code of Conduct applies to all Juneteenth Barcelona spaces — including the annual June 20 event, monthly meetups, pop-up gatherings, and any online spaces managed under the Juneteenth Barcelona name.
We're Glad You're Here
